Day 8

I donated what I could.  Shouldn’t you try to donate to a cause you support?

Even Coinstar helps with donations now – it’s easier than you think.  Take that change you know you’ll never use and give it to an organization that will…

Day 7

I cleaned up after someone else’s dog at the park today.   I noticed it while I was cleaning up after my own.  Good thing I always carry extra bags. :)

Day 6

Today, I did a sink full of dishes and took out the garbage before my grandmother got home from work.

Day 5

Instead of throwing away the leftover cat food from the passing of my beloved, Siris, I gave it to a girl across the street who has a kitty of her own.

Day 4

I have seen a lot in my twenty-seven years on this planet.  More than many.  I count myself blessed to have pulled through as many of these battles as I have.

Consider this then, a call to awareness.

Does someone in your life suffer from something?  Are there organizations out there that help support those who are suffering from the same?

If you’re blessed to have a healthy family (a rare blessing indeed), why not consider donating blood?  Volunteering at a local pet shelter or homeless shelter for a day (instead of sitting around watching re-runs on TV)?

I am a regular blood donor – it’s something that costs me nothing but saves lives everyday.  Actually, it saved my life once upon a time.  It’s one of those very simple ways that someone can change the world.

Think about it.

Day 3

I have a friend whose mother is battling breast cancer.  As I scoured the aisles of a local megamart, I saw a book of inspirational quotes and motivations for those who face that fight or are supporting someone who does.

I’m not rich (SO far from it) but for the $2.99 I spent, I will get back so much more in the goodwill it brings.

This is the book I found for her.  She is very religious and as I flipped through the pages in the store, I even felt myself swallowing down a few tears.

Day 2

While I was at Wal-Mart today, I stopped by the pet food aisle and picked up a bag of cheap cat food.  When I walk the dog at night, I’ll leave a bowl of the food out for the emaciated alley cats.

Day 1

Today, while walking the dog, I brought extra bags and proceeded to pick up any garbage I saw along the way.

May 1st will mark the day that begins building the ark.

I hope you will join me and please feel free to comment any of your own ARK moments.
